Search setup that matches how people look

Search work for a small business is mostly telling the truth in a structure a crawler can read. True North Web Design sets that up on the sites we build, and we will repair it on a site that is already live if the page is worth keeping. The Launch build, from $750, includes the on-page work: titles, descriptions, one headline, canonical URLs on choosetruenorth.com for our own site and on your domain for yours, and a sitemap.

Local and national search are not the same job. A contractor who wants the map pack needs the site, the Google Business Profile, and the directories to agree on the name, the phone, and the hours. A company that sells to other states needs pages that explain the offer to a stranger, not a city name repeated until the sentence breaks. We write about that split on the blog. The short version: do not buy a national campaign for a business that only rolls a truck across one county, and do not stuff suburbs into a page that ships nationwide.

The failures we keep seeing are boring and expensive. Two addresses. A click-to-call link that dials the wrong number. A homepage with no headline, or three of them. A canonical tag pointing at a preview host. A sitemap that lists pages you deleted, and robots.txt that never mentions the sitemap. The free audit checks the live URL for those. It does not invent traffic or keyword volume.

Service pages are the ranking asset for most of our clients. A single page that lists roofing, gutters, and windows in one paragraph is hard to show for any of those searches. Separate pages, with a real description of the work, are slower to write and easier to find. Restaurants need the menu and the hours on the site, not only on a third-party listing that went stale. Clinics need the services and the booking path, not a theme's "welcome to our medical centre" sentence.

We do not sell a monthly SEO retainer that is a report of positions you cannot visit. If you want ongoing writing, that is a content plan with topics your customers already ask. The articles on this site, cost, calls, and local versus national search, are the kind of page we mean. Each one has an author, a date, and a single headline.

Schema is part of the setup when it describes the real organization. Your business is the business. We will not mark a case study up as if your company were True North, and we will not mark our case studies up as if the client were us. Organization, the service, and the breadcrumbs should match the page a person can open.

Call (865) 235-1305 if you want the setup included in a new site, or a straight read on the one you have. We work nationwide. Start with the audit if you want the technical list before the conversation.

Search setup, for us, is a list you can check. One headline that says the job. A title and description written for that URL. A canonical address on the real domain. A sitemap that lists the pages you mean to rank and does not list private pages. Each real service on its own page, with enough writing that a person and a search engine can tell them apart. The Google profile, the site, and the phone number telling the same story: one name, one number, one set of hours. We will not stuff a city into every sentence, buy a block of fake reviews, or promise a map-pack position. Local search and national search are different questions, and most businesses are a mix. The article on local versus national search says how we tell them apart. The free audit shows whether the current page can even be indexed. Call (865) 235-1305 when you want the pages built, not a report that ends in a retainer you did not ask for.

Questions we hear

Do you guarantee a number-one ranking?
No. Anyone who does is selling a position they do not control. We fix the on-page issues that keep a real business from being understood.
Is SEO included in the website price?
On-page setup is part of a True North build. A separate content program is quoted if you want articles on a schedule.
Can you tell local SEO from national SEO for my business?
Yes. It depends on whether customers search for a town and a truck, or for an offer they can buy from anywhere.

The audit is free. It reads the live page and scores the checks that decide whether someone calls. Or talk to a person: (865) 235-1305.
