Web apps

Web apps for the work a brochure cannot do

Some businesses do not need another page of paragraphs. They need a tool: a customer who books a bay, a member who pays a dues invoice, a tech who opens the job from the truck. That is a web app. True North Web Design builds those when the phone-and-brochure site has already done its job and the next leak is the process, not the headline.

We do not fold an app into the $750 Launch price and hope nobody notices. A login, a database, payments, and roles are a different build. You get a quote after we know who signs in, what they are allowed to see, and what has to happen when they are offline in a parking lot. The studio number is (865) 235-1305. We take that call from anywhere in the country.

The apps we have shipped are specific. Camper Guard is a companion for RV owners: power, propane, setup, and the trip, not a generic "community platform." CampTech's site had to explain that the repair truck comes to the campsite. When a business like that outgrows a form, the next step is an account, a job, and a record the office can trust. We would rather build that narrow tool than a platform with twelve empty modules.

Payments, reminders, and the boring admin screens are the product. A pretty calendar that does not take a deposit still leaves the front desk on the phone. If you mention no-shows, invoices, or a punch card that lives in a drawer, we will talk about those before we talk about animation. Stripe is the usual path when the money has to move. We will say if your current processor is a better fit than a rewrite.

A web app still needs the public site in front of it. The marketing pages explain the offer and get the first call. The app is what a customer or a staffer uses after that. We can build both, or attach the app to a site that is already telling the truth. The free audit is for the public page. The app conversation starts when you can describe the job someone does twice a day in a spreadsheet.

Care for an app is not the $39.99 hosting plan. A database, sign-in, and backups have a different monthly cost, quoted with the build. You should know that number before you approve a screen. We will not sell a build and surprise you with the hosting.

If you are a contractor, a shop, a clinic, or a venue, start with the page that gets the call. Add the app when the calls are the bottleneck. Call (865) 235-1305 and say which spreadsheet you want gone. That is enough for a useful first conversation.

The first app conversation is a list of jobs, not a feature tour. Who signs in. What they are allowed to see. What has to be true when the phone is in a parking lot with one bar. Which payment has to move, and whether Stripe is already how you get paid. We will not fold a login and a database into the $750 Launch price. That number is a website. An app is quoted when the spreadsheet it replaces is obvious. Camper Guard is the example we can point at: power, propane, setup, and the trip, built for a person standing next to a rig. CampTech stayed a website until the public page could explain that the truck comes to the campsite. The same split applies to a shop, a clinic, or a contractor. The marketing site gets the call. The app is what staff or a repeat customer uses after that. Care for an app is not the $39.99 plan. You hear the monthly number with the build. The free audit still only reads the public page. For the tool, call (865) 235-1305 and name the spreadsheet.

Questions we hear

Is a web app the same as a website?
No. A website explains the business and captures the call. A web app has accounts, data, and a job someone repeats. We price them separately.
Can customers install it on a phone?
A well-built web app can be saved to the home screen. We will say if you actually need a store app. Most service businesses do not.
Do you work outside Tennessee?
Yes. Design, build, and support are remote. The phone number is (865) 235-1305.

The audit is free. It reads the live page and scores the checks that decide whether someone calls. Or talk to a person: (865) 235-1305.
